Members return to The Club Company’s 13 premier health clubs following reopening of leisure

Monday 12th April 2021

As leisure facilities open their doors again today, The Club Company’s 13 premier health clubs unveil a host of innovations designed to welcome back members in a safe environment.

As the UK’s largest country club operator, The Club Company owns and operates 15 premier clubs across the country - 13 of them with health facilities. Members can now return to gyms, swimming pools and group exercise classes hosted outdoors or in marquees.

Measures such as no-contact entry, social distancing, hand sanitising stations and lateral flow tests are all being utilised to provide a Covid-safe environment for staff and members.

Chief Executive Officer Richard Calvert welcomes the reopening;

“The team is so motivated to welcome our members back into our clubs. Health and wellness is now part and parcel of life, and greeting our members in a safe, caring and energised environment feels just great.”

For the last few months, online workouts and classes hosted by health & fitness guru Dawn Faulkner Clark have offered respite for many.

Head of Wellbeing Dawn Faulkner Clark commented;

“We knew we needed to do something to keep everyone motivated during lockdown. The engagement and interaction has brought so many members from different clubs together, and the positive feedback has made it all worth it. Who knew training with others in your own home could be so much fun? Going forward we’ll be continuing our online classes even as live group exercise returns, as it’s been so well received.”

The reopening coincides with the launch of the company’s new Club Card, which gives members easy access to their home club in addition to health & fitness facilities across all clubs in the group. Members also benefit from 10% off across hotels, food and drink, shopping and health & beauty treatments.
