The Club Company celebrates the reopening of golf today as members and green fee players return to play

Golfers return to courses across England today following an extended period of lockdowns and restrictive tiers which saw courses closed in the wake of the pandemic.

For The Club Company, the UK’s largest country club operator with 15 premier clubs across the UK, the reopening of the sector is warmly welcomed by staff and members alike.

With golf one of the first sports to reopen following the first national lockdown in England, the sport has been cited as offering numerous benefits to both physical and mental health due to its reputation as a sociable, low impact option.

The Club Company has continued to engage with its golf members during lockdown, with over 400 members regularly attending online golf tutorials while courses have been closed.

Chief Executive Officer Richard Calvert commented;

“It’s great to see all of our clubs reopening and our team giving the warmest of welcomes to our loyal members. Golf is such an amazing sport, bringing friends and families together in stunning countryside surroundings. The feel-good factor will certainly come alive at our championship courses after a trying few months for all.”

The reopening coincides with the launch of the company’s new Club Card which gives members access to a range of exclusive benefits including 10% across all accommodation across the group, food and drink, golf buggies, retail and members-only discounts.
