Throughout October The Club Company hosted Let’s Talk Menopause - a month of inspiring events, expert talks and supportive workshops designed to empower women at every stage, from perimenopause to post-menopause. We were delighted to welcome Jenni Falconer as our official campaign ambassador, shining a light on the importance of staying fit and healthy at every stage of life.

Jenni spoke about how inspiring it was to see so many women enjoying golf at our clubs. “It’s lovely that there are so many lady members here,” she said. “There are still so many clubs trying to encourage more girls and women to play golf, so it’s great to see such a strong community.”

She shared her own story of falling in love with golf six years ago, playing regularly with her parents, making new friends, and even inspiring her husband to take up the sport. “I love golf so much I’d drive over an hour to play,” she laughed. “It’s something I took up in my forties and it’s given me confidence, new friendships, and time outdoors to think and reset.”

Staying Active Through Menopause

Jenni also spoke passionately about the positive impact of exercise on both body and mind, especially for women navigating menopause. “There are lots of women who really do struggle through those years,” she explained. “Being active and getting outside can really help fight those symptoms. Whether you’re going through it or not, activity makes such a difference - it boosts your energy, your mood, and your confidence.”

Her message was simple: staying active and connected can be one of the most effective ways to support wellbeing through every stage of life.

Strength, Recovery and Balance

As a dedicated runner and fitness enthusiast, Jenni also shared insights on the importance of strength and flexibility. Stretching is something she’d often neglected in the past but now sees as essential: “If you skip stretching, you really feel it later,” she said. She praised Pilates and Yoga for helping maintain mobility and encouraged members to make time for recovery, even with small habits like using foam rollers at home.

Jenni also discussed the value of progressive strength training: “Start light, focus on good technique, and build up gradually - that’s how you really see results. You don’t have to lift heavy straight away, but aiming to improve is key.” She highlighted the role of core and back strength, especially for posture, golf performance, and overall wellbeing.

A Message of Positivity

Reflecting on her own journey, Jenni summed it up perfectly: “Exercise helps with everything - your mindset, your positivity, even your confidence. Since I started playing golf, I’ve felt more confident, not because of my skill, but because it’s something for me - a way to get outside, clear my head, and feel good.”

Her enthusiasm and authenticity captured the spirit of the Let’s Talk Menopause campaign - encouraging women to stay active, connected, and confident through movement, community, and self-care.
