What is the difference between Pilates and Reformer Pilates?

The main difference between traditional Pilates and reformer Pilates is the equipment, intensity level and specific exercises performed. While mat Pilates is typically done on a mat or padded surface, reformer Pilates uses a specialised machine called The Reformer. This is a spring-loaded machine that allows for a wide range of exercises to be performed. It provides a more intense workout due to the different levels of resistance used to build strength and tone muscles.
